Legislative obligations
Under the Omnibus legislative package adopted at European level, large companies with more than 1,000 employees and meeting the relevant financial criteria must:
- implement sustainability policies,
- report under CSRD and the ESRS standards,
- apply ESG due diligence principles to their direct partners.
The deadlines have been postponed to 2027 (the second wave), and reporting by listed SMEs begins in 2028.
The aim: simpler reporting, a lighter administrative burden, and better alignment with business reality.
